Cultivating Happiness

As shared from Nancy Showalter's Blog

"A little bit of happiness seems to be the goal of the teeming millions on earth, yet the Father intends not a little, but a great cosmic abundance lavishly poured forth to all who are able and willing to expand their consciousness of receptivity—while holding on firmly to the hand of their own “I AM Presence!” - El Morya

Happiness is often thought of as an emotional state, but it is also a spiritual state. Spiritual happiness is a deep, lasting sense of peace, contentment, and purpose that arises from a connection to something greater than oneself. Let's explore some of the ways we can cultivate spiritual happiness and how they can contribute to a more fulfilling life.

Connection to a Higher Power

One of the key components of spiritual happiness is a connection to a higher power, God in you - your Mighty I AM Presence. This can take many forms in our outer lives, depending on your beliefs and traditions. For some, they may find their connection to God meditating. For others it may be when in they are in nature, community, or service to others. Whatever form it takes, this connection to something greater than oneself can provide a sense of purpose and meaning that goes beyond the ups and downs of everyday life.

Meditating on your heart and connecting with your I AM Presence within is one of the most powerful connections that leads to happiness that is beyond any emotional state that may or may not last.

Gratitude and Mindfulness

Another important aspect of spiritual happiness is gratitude and mindfulness. When we take the time to appreciate the blessings in our lives, we can cultivate a deeper sense of contentment and joy. This can involve simple practices like keeping a gratitude journal, taking a few minutes each day to reflect on what we are thankful for, or simply pausing to notice the beauty around us.

Similarly, mindfulness can help us cultivate a deeper sense of presence and awareness in our lives. When we are fully engaged in the present moment, we can experience a sense of peace and connection that is often elusive in our fast-paced, distracted world. This can involve practices like meditation, yoga, or simply taking a few deep breaths and focusing on the sensations in our body.

Compassion and Service

Finally, spiritual happiness often involves a sense of compassion and service to others. When we take the time to care for others, whether through volunteering, acts of kindness, or simply listening and offering support, we can experience a deep sense of connection and purpose. This can help us feel more connected to our communities and the world around us, and can also provide a sense of fulfillment and joy that is difficult to find through more self-centered pursuits.

Conclusion

While happiness is often thought of as a purely emotional state, it can also be a deeply spiritual experience. By cultivating a sense of connection to something greater than ourselves, practicing gratitude and mindfulness, and engaging in acts of compassion and service, we can experience a deep sense of peace and contentment that goes beyond the ups and downs of everyday life. Whether through religious or secular practices, we can all find ways to cultivate this kind of spiritual happiness in our lives, and in doing so, create a more fulfilling and meaningful existence.
